A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I’m Liam.
Always building,
still learning.

I study Computing and Translation and Interpreting in the GDUFS–MPU joint programme. I co-founded CreaTrades and Yakky, build software for language research, and lead the Transputer Squad.

03 BUILDING WITH OTHERS

Make room for others to begin.

I founded the Transputer Squad in December 2023 and continue to lead it. The team brings together technical exchange, workshops and project collaboration. Organising activities has become another way to connect what I learn with what others can use.

At the HKU Summer Institute in 2024, our “Call of Duty: Oxygen Crisis” capstone placed first among 23 teams. I contributed scene building, animation, production and direction. I also completed NTU’s AI & GPT summer programme.

A TEAM STORY / 2025–2026

From a workshop to a place to practise.

I helped organise two years of university–industry practice: nine students joined the GDUFS–Xinfengwei programme in 2025; in 2026, cooperation expanded to China Mobile and 30 students. The task was to connect students with real requirements and a team in which they could contribute.

Within Transputer, I organised technical training and public lectures alongside project collaboration. Building a community taught me to think beyond my own implementation: who else can take part, and what do they need to get started?

04 / ANOTHER SIDE OF MAKING

Code, scenes, and stories.

Some ideas need an interface. Others need a scene, a character, or a script.

Oxygen Crisis

A virtual-world story that makes an invisible environmental threat visible. I contributed scene building, animation, production and direction.

WECHAT MINI-PROGRAM / 2025

Traveler’s Guide

A cultural-tourism tool for choosing local visual elements, selecting a style and creating a personalised travel image. I developed the entire mini-program and designed part of the user flow.

This was an earlier encounter with a question I now explore in CreaTrades: how do we help someone turn an open-ended intention into choices they can act on?

SHORT FILM / 2025

Taishan, told through food.

I was the screenwriter for this team film. Food becomes a way into a place: a sequence of scenes, people and details rather than a list of attractions.
